The Creative Glass Guild of Queensland was founded in 1979 as a community-based organisation for people wishing to learn traditional and contemporary glass art techniques.

We operate in the tradition of the medieval craft Guilds, setting and maintaining high standards for the quality and integrity of our training and the goods and services we provide.

We are a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation run on a membership basis and managed by volunteers.

We run courses and workshops in Beadmaking, Fusing and Slumping, Contemporary and Traditional Glass Painting & Decorating, Leadlight & Copperfoiling, Mosaics, and Sand Engraving. We are proud to be the only place in Australia offering such a wide range of classes under one roof.

Our Showcase was a great success! Thank you for your support.

Our Creative Glass Showcase provides members with the opportunity to display and sell their handmade glass creations.  Being held annually in the Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens Auditorium, visitors can see and buy from a large range of individual glass items, all hand made by Guild members.

Live demonstrations are held throughout the weekend, when visitors can see various glass-making techniques, talk to local glass artists about their work, and check out the various courses to get started on the road to glass artistry.

Those who visited our 2023 Creative Glass Showcase on Saturday 7 October and Sunday 8 October were treated to an amazing array of glass art. It was a huge success. Thank you for the support.
