Welcome to the Creative Glass Guild of Queensland

Located in Red Hill, an inner city suburb of Brisbane, we are a community-based, not-for-profit organisation delivering cultural and educational activities since 1979. We promote a range of traditional and contemporary glass art techniques through provision of courses and workshops in Beadmaking, Fusing and Slumping, Glass Painting & Decorating, Leadlight & Copperfoiling, Mosaics, Sandblasting and traditional Stained Glass. We are proud to be the only place in Australia offering such a range of classes under the one roof.

Our courses and workshops are very popular. Beginners classes and most workshops require no previous experience. Great for “learners”! You can enrol and pay online. More information? Check out the various classes available in 2021.

“Glass in the Gardens Show & Sale”

2019 Exhibition

Sadly, the Guild has cancelled its Glass in the Gardens Show and Sale for another year.  The ongoing concerns for our volunteer members and the public regarding COVID cannot be ignored and we hope to be back bigger and better in 2022 when higher vaccination rates bring more certainty.

Planned for Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 July, 2022, our popular Show and Sale will display the beauty and splendour of glass in the auditorium at the beautiful Mt Coot-tha Gardens. Visitors will be treated to a selection of original glass creations, all hand-made by talented Glass Guild members. They will meet local artists, see live demonstrations, may sign up for classes, plus have opportunities to buy unique glassware. Displays and items for sale include decorative glass beads and jewellery, leadlight windows, mosaic artworks, fused glass creations, copperfoiled pieces, colourful lamps, painted glass and more.
