The Creative Glass Guild of Queensland was founded in 1979 as a community-based organisation for people wishing to learn traditional and contemporary glass art techniques.
We operate in the tradition of the medieval craft Guilds, setting and maintaining high standards for the quality and integrity of our training and the goods and services we provide.
We are a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation run on a membership basis and managed by volunteers.
We run courses and workshops in Beadmaking, Fusing and Slumping, Traditional Glass Painting & Decorating, Leadlight & Copperfoiling, Mosaics, and Sand Engraving. We are proud to be the only place in Australia offering such a wide range of classes under one roof.

2026 Glass Showcase to be held 14 and 15 November
The annual Creative Glass Guild showcase offers visitors the chance to watch live demonstrations of a variety of glass art techniques throughout the weekend of 14 -15 November 2026. Attendees can meet our friendly Guild tutors and members to hear firsthand about their creative journeys. They have the opportunity to discover and enroll in courses that inspire and guide them into the wonder of the world of glass artistry.
The 2026 theme for the showcase is “Sunburnt Christmas”. Throughout the year, members will be involved in creating beautiful glass items relating to this theme. It is always exciting to see the variety and depth of glass art that is for sale.
Our popular Christmas ornaments will again be available to buy along with the first of a limited number of a Christmas collectable ornament reflecting the theme. One can start collecting these annually.
Mark the date in your calendar! There will be beautiful and unique glass gifts to buy for loved ones or for the person who has everything!
The 2026 Showcase will be held on Saturday 14 November (9:00am to 4:00pm) and Sunday 15 November (9:00am to 3:00pm) at the Mt Coot-tha Auditorium, Botanic Gardens, 152 Mt Coot-tha Road, Mt Coot-tha.
