Classes: Glass Bead Making – Beginners, Glass Bead Making: Decorative Techniques

Lenore Keough’s glass journey began in 2017 after discovering the world of glass via public demonstrations at the Canberra Glassworks. She was subsequently thrilled to find the Creative Glass Guild in Brisbane, enrolled in a beginner bead making course, and hasn’t looked back since.

In 2020, travel restrictions had an unexpected benefit when incredible international bead making teachers began to offer online classes. Lenore took advantage of this new opportunity to take classes with some of the best bead makers in the world, including JC Herrell, Astrid Riedel, Corina Tettinger, and Hayley Tsang Sather.

Lenore has developed a level of skill that has seen her shortlisted twice in the international “Your Bead for Venice” competition, but firmly believes her learning journey will never end, with nearly endless techniques for making and decorating glass beads exerting a permanent fascination. She loves watching new students take their first steps and discovering, as she did herself, the wonderful addictive craft of lampworking a.k.a. making glass beads.
