DESCRIPTION:Tutor: Katrina Jackson \nWant to enter the wonderful world of fused and slumped glass? \nIn this course\, beginners to glass and those with some experience\, will learn processes required to create a beautiful fused and slumped glass piece to take home.  Learn how to cut glass\, safety practices when working with glass\, how to prepare glass for kiln firing\, use and care of Guild kilns\, and learn what happens to glass in the fusing and slumping processes.  You will use basic designs supplied by the Guild to make one fused glass project. \nOn completion of this course and if you become\, or are a member\, you will be able to “book” Guild kilns to work on your own projects. \nNumbers: Minimum 5\, Maximum 6  \n \nPrerequisite: No experience necessary.

SUMMARY:Members' Mosaic Madness
DESCRIPTION:A get-together for “mosaicing” members to share their glass mosaic experiences – their successes and challenges. \nThis group is the space to share tips and information with others who mosaic.  While we help others who are less experienced\, it does not replace our Wednesday evening Intermediate Mosaics course where tutors are available to support your projects. \nBring your mosaic projects to work on and join in the fun.  While focus is on creativity\, camaraderie and laughter\, sharing the workload of opening / closing\, cleaning up and providing shop facilities is desirable. \nBooking is not required but do check our website calendar to see if a Thursday session is not being held.

DESCRIPTION:Tutor: Jenny Keys \nRunning over 10 weeks on Thursday evenings\, students choose from three lamp designs\, or\, may choose their own simple pattern after discussion with\, and agreement by\, tutor. If you choose your own pattern\, you may need to work in your own time to complete lamp. \nNumbers: Minimum 6\, Maximum 6 \nPrerequisite: Guild membership and completion of Leadlight and Copper Foiling – Beginners or Copperfoiling – Beginners. \nCost: Includes copper foil\, solder\, lamp cap\, spider\, flux\, patina\, but not glass & lamp fixtures as these will vary depending on your requirements. (Glass for a basic lamp may cost upward of $80.00 depending on the glass chosen.)
