SUMMARY:FWS3: Fused Aussie Flowers (12 and 19 April)
DESCRIPTION:Tutor: Chris Bell \nThis 8-hour workshop is held over 2 consecutive Sundays to allow for pre-firing of your glass pieces before creating 6 beautiful Australian flowers. Many pictures of Aussie native flowers will be available for inspiration. \n \nDay 1: The tutor will demonstrate how to create a stock of the unique components of a flower – petals\, stamens\, stems\, leaves of various shapes and sizes. These pieces will be made by scoring and cutting glass. You will be taught how to bend and curl stringers as decoration. You will then prepare the pieces ready for firing and the construction of your flowers the following week.  \nDay 2: Wash your prepared pieces and build six 7 by 8 cm sized Aussie Floral ‘pictures’.  These will be placed in the kiln and fired ready for collection later in the week. At home\, you might turn these into a hanging decoration\, a pendant\, a picture by glueing on backing material and framing\, or display as they are. \nNumbers: Minimum 6\, Maximum 8 \nCost:  Includes all materials\, adhesive and firing fees. \nPrerequisite: Glass cutting skills necessary. Note: This workshop is not a replacement for the beginners fusing and slumping course.

SUMMARY:Members' Mosaic Madness
DESCRIPTION:A get-together for “mosaicing” members to share their glass mosaic experiences – their successes and challenges. \nThis group is the space to share tips and information with others who mosaic.  While we help others who are less experienced\, it does not replace our Wednesday evening Intermediate Mosaics course where tutors are available to support your projects. \nBring your mosaic projects to work on and join in the fun.  While focus is on creativity\, camaraderie and laughter\, sharing the workload of opening / closing\, cleaning up and providing shop facilities is desirable. \nBooking is not required but do check our website calendar to see if a Thursday session is not being held.
